The Department of Zakat and Income Tax (DZIT) in Saudi chooses EverSuite to streamline taxpayers’ procedures
Riyad-March 2011 : The Department of Zakat and Income Tax (DZIT) has signed a contract with one of the leading Saudi IT companies to manage its full enterprise content lifecycle with EverSuite, a solution provided by EVER TEAM, the European Leader and French software provider of Integrated Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions.
The project was a part of DZIT’s information systems upgrade and business process automation programs aiming to streamline the procedures and provide its taxpayers more value added services.
Mr. Saleh Al Awaji, deputy director of operations stated that this strategic project will enable DZIT to improve its productivity by streamlining the taxpayers’ procedures which will enhance the productivity and work quality, reduce operational costs and improve services provided to taxpayers: the taxpayer will have access to DITZ’s services from anywhere in the world, at any time, and can easily declare his income tax as well as calculate its tax due amount online.
In addition, Ibrahim Ben Saleh Al-Hanaki, IT General Manger at DZIT, declared that this project aims to gradual offer new e-services in compliance with standard requirements through the deployment of a website allowing taxpayers to access DZIT services on line. This will be complemented with a content management and electronic archiving system aiming at reducing paper documents, improving employee efficiency and enhancing services provided to concerned taxpayers, employees and entities.
About DZIT
The Department of Zakat and Income Tax (DZIT) was established per Ministerial Resolution no. 394, dated 7/8/1370 H. (14/06/1951). The mission of DZIT is briefly to administer and collect zakat on commercial goods from Saudi individuals and companies and from individuals and companies of GCC states subject to the same treatment like Saudis, and to administer and collect tax from non-Saudi individuals doing business in the Kingdom, resident Saudi companies on shares of non-Saudi partners, and non-resident companies doing business in the Kingdom through a permanent establishment or deriving income from a source in the Kingdom.
The Head-office of DZIT is in Riyadh. There are ten field-offices that report to the Head-office; the field-offices are located in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Madinah, Taif, Qassim, Abha, Tabuk and Al-Ihsa.. In addition, there are sections in the Financial Offices to collect zakat and tax in regions and districts with no DZIT field-offices.
